COMPANY PROFILE
As the members got together to realize by feel what gets in Kiguchi’s head from time to time, they started to attract people’s attention as a unique performance group, carrying various elements of drama, performance, music, contemporary art. Their pieces could mainly be divided into two kinds basically- the ones take place on stage with more of dramatic elements, and the ones with more of performance elements for festivities. As they are willing to stay multifaceted, we could expect them to be more active in various genres freely in the future. The company’s name derives from the Japanese title “Akuma no shirushi”, which was for the song “SYMPTOM OF THE UNIVERSE” by the British rock band BLACK SABBATH that Kiguchi adores. 危口の思いついた何かをメンバーたちが方法論も知らず手さぐりで実現していった結果、 演劇・パフォーマンス・建築・美術など多様な要素をもつ異色のパフォーマンス集団として注目される。 作風は基本的に、演劇的な要素の強い舞台作品と、祝祭的なパフォーマンス作品という二つの系統。 団体名は、主宰・危口統之の敬愛する英国のロックバンドBLACK SABBATHの楽曲 「SYMPTOM OF THE UNIVERSE」に付けられた邦題、「悪魔のしるし」に由来。2008年結成。 “What we stick to do is, to make something a play, let something become a play, or make a play into something else rather than doing a play."
